Big Island Junior Golf Association Rules and Regulations
All Junior Golfers participating in the Big Island Junior Golf Association program must abide by the following rules and regulations:
- Must abide by the USGA Rules of Golf and local rules as announced or posted.
- Must exercise proper golf etiquette at all times.
- Be considerate of your fellow competitor and play the game according to the rules.
- We are guest of the golf courses, and we should conduct ourselves accordingly. We expect courtesy and proper behavior at all times.
- No loitering or wandering in the pro shop and other areas unless you are there to make a purchase.
- Junior must be at the golf course and check in with the person in charge at least 20 minutes before posted tee-time or time of departure for outside courses. Penalty – 2 strokes
- Juniors must wear collar shirts. Penalty – 2 strokes
- No surfer shorts. Penalty – 2 strokes
- Shirts must be tucked in and belts worn if pants/shorts/skorts/skirts have belt loops. Penalty – 2 strokes
- Walking caddies allowed for 6 and under age group only. No riding golf carts permitted in any junior golf events for participants.
- Friends or parents will not accompany players during tournament play. Failure to abide by this rule will result in disqualification of player. Special permission may be given by tournament chairperson.
- Unauthorized “PICK-UPS†will automatically suspend the junior, only the scorer or tournament chairperson may authorized a “PICK-UP†at any time.
- A junior golfer may be reprimanded, penalized, disqualified, suspended or dropped from the program for any of the following infractions:
- a. Littering on the golf course
- b. Failure to replace divot on fairways, tees and greens
- c. Failure to rake sand trap
- d. Throwing clubs
- e. Swearing or using offensive and abusive language
- f. Cheating
- g. Fighting or endangering other junior golfers in any way
- h. Smoking
- i. Drinking alcoholic beverages
- j. Use of drugs
- k. Insubordination
- l. Stealing
- m. Gambling
- n. Vandalism
